Frequently Asked Questions

How do hardwood floors compare to other kinds of flooring?

Harwood floors are long-lasting and extremely durable. In fact, most of the time they will outlast every other kind of available flooring.

Will a hardwood floor make it easier for me to sell my home?

Yes, for sure. The vast majority of real estate brokers will tell you that homes with hardwood floors sell far quicker than homes with carpets.

Do you provide warranties on all of your work?

Absolutely. Our work is under warranty for one year and we provide guarantees in our contracts. Moreover, all of our crews are fully licensed and bonded, in the event of any unforeseen occurrence.

Will I be able to stay in my home whilst you work on my floors, or should I make other arrangements?

We recommend that you try and leave your home whilst we work on your floors. It is better that you are not exposed to odors from the varnishes and stains and do not breathe in the dust that results from the sanding process.

How long will it take for a finish that is applied to dry?

Polyurethane finishes takes about 24 hours to dry. Water based finishes take around 3-4 hours to dry. However, we recommend that you stay away from the area for some hours, because of any lingering odors.

Are hardwood floors good for the environment?

Definitely. Hardwood floors can be made out of wood that is recyclable. They take less energy to produce than other kind of floorings and provide good insulation, which means lower heating bills.

How are the acoustics on a hardwood floor?

Wood responds very well to sound and hearing, which is why many places of worship and concert halls are now choosing to install wood flooring.

There are so many kinds of wood available – how do I choose the right one?

There are many different factors that need to be considered – texture, color, grain and cost. To help you make the best possible decision, we offer free, no-obligation appointments, are your home, where we can give you all the information you need, and answer all of your questions.

What’s the best way to keep my wood floors looking good?

Dust and sweep the floor regularly. You can also dry mop it. Putting doormats in areas where there is a lot of foot traffic is helpful, as well as placing felt mats under the legs of chairs and tables. And, when in doubt, call a professional.
